Oman to build $20m aquarium into new mall project 29 April 2015

Australian company Advanced Aquarium Technologies is behind the plans for the Sultanate

The aquarium will be located in a large shopping mall complex in the capital city, Muscat, span three floors and contain 5000m2 of exhibits.

Business development manager Zac Gill said the job of designing the attraction had been made easy by an unusual and beautiful natural environment, he said.

He said  visitors would spend an average of two hours enjoying the aquarium "so we really want them to get lost in the journey".

"It's about Oman's rich culture and it is an important trade hub," he said.
